Maca is a cruciferous vegetable native to Peru. The edible part of the vegetable is the root, which has been used for its many healing and health benefits.
It comes in powder form and is an excellent source of protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients and fatty acids. It’s particularly high in calcium, potassium, iron and iodine as well as active compounds that are unique to it. It’s also low on calories.
