Lion’s Mane Tincture
This distinctive, cream-coloured mushroom with cascading spines resembling a lion’s mane is also known as Hericium erinaceus (“hedgehog” in Latin) or yambushitake (amongst many other names) in Japanese. These mushrooms are edible and used for cooking as well as for their many powerful medicinal properties.
Lion’s Mane’s medicinal compounds, especially those responsible for its neuroprotective properties, come from many different phytochemicals. They include the usual β-glucans but, more excitingly, terpenoids called hericonones as well as erinacines which are found only in this mushroom.
