Acai (ah-sigh-ee) powder comes from a deeply purple-coloured berry. These berries are harvested from the acai palm tree in the Amazon rainforest. Their taste has been described as a cross between blackberries and unsweetened chocolate.
These berries contain anthocyanins (which give them their deep purple colour) and are high in antioxidants. In addition, acai is high in dietary fibre, vitamin C, and vitamin A – as well as fatty acids and beneficial plant sterols.
Ingredients: organic acai powder
Directions for use: Add 2-3 rounded teaspoons to coconut milk, almond milk or water. Can also be added to smoothies, baking and raw treats.
