Our story

Alma Herbs was born out of a passion for nature, for healing and for organic food.

Originally an organic farm in the Waterberg District of Limpopo, Alma Herbs has now evolved into an on-line whole-food store for people who understand the value of a plant-based diet and the incredible healing power of nature.

We’ve spent more than two years making the transition to an online store. It wasn’t easy to find the right products and suppliers we trust, but we’re happy to say we’ve finally succeeded!

We’ve taken what we learned from farming and our love of healing and nature and we’re pouring it into finding products that help us be healthier and happier. These products are in our pantry; we use them ourselves. If we’re not happy with a product, it won’t make it onto our list.

You’ll also see that we’ve included CBD products in our range. We fell in love with cannabis plants after visiting a farm where they grew, and we’ve been studying their medicinal properties for over two years. After a long, hard search – and more than one false start – we found a company we trust with a product range that resonates with us. We hope you fall in love with this range as much as we have.

And if you’re looking for a plant-based product you don’t see here, or you’d like to share how our products are working for you, we’d love to hear from you.

To your health!

At Alma Herbs, we care about healing ourselves and our planet. Like the earth, our bodies have an incredible capacity to heal and regenerate. We believe that our most important job is to stop interfering with that process by eating food that’s loaded with “nasties”: pesticides and herbicides, GMOs, preservatives, additives and artificial sweeteners.

When that’s not enough, we look to nature to help bring our bodies back into balance… as herbalists have been doing for centuries.

We support the regeneration of the earth by choosing products whose ingredients come from ethical, sustainable farming methods.

We insist on products that are 100% natural (no suprises!), plant-based, organic where possible and good for our bodies.

And we share as much knowledge as possible, so that we can all empower ourselves to heal. We trust that as more of us choose this path, both we and the earth will heal.
